Fan with MGMT in Nashville, 2018

“3/11/18. The day I finally got to see my favorite band in the universe, MGMT, live. And not only did I see them live – I m e t Ben & Andrew. My spiritual motivators, creative leaders, and “only friends” for a very large part of my life. And Cola Boyy was pretty dope too. A part of my heart will forever be filled and my conscious rewarded every time I look back on this insane night. And trust me, this will absolutely N O T be the last time I see them.” —inmymindseyeorwhatever

Andrew meeting fans in Seattle, 2013

“there were soooo many people waiting after the show in Seattle, and he came out and said hi to everyone. Everyone got pictures, hugs, autographs. By the end of it he looked so tired but he still kept going. Andrew is sooo nice and you can tell he really cares about his fans.” —rainyhipster

Andrew group hugs with fans at Bumbershoot, 2013

“Well school starts tomorrow, and I’m just glad that I got to end the last few days on a spectacular note, especially a few nights ago when my friends and I had the pleasure to see MGMT perform live. The night was truly amazing. After the concert we got to meet Andrew, he was so sweet to all his fans and right before he left my friends and I gave him a group hug, this summer was gold.” —anotherstupidkidd

MGMT with fans @ the Fillmore, Detroit, 2010

“I got to meet some very special people– amazing, kind, intelligent, incredibly talented, awesome people…the people who made the music that means more to me than I can explain. This music and these boys got me through some extremely terrible times in my life…and were also there for some of the funnest times in my life…they were the biggest inspiration to me in my art and in every aspect of my life, forever altering it.” —walkinggraffiti

MGMT with fans, May 8 2013

“Spent some quality time with my favorite people on earth. Talked bands and instruments, art, all kinds of things. We gave them a biomorphic light form I built them, a cassette with a song we made for them, and a few other things. MGMT is contributing to something I’m doing that I’ll write more about later. Very thankful for the time I got to spend with them and for the beautiful set they played – Alien Days lead into the outro of Metanoia, they played 4 new songs, my favorite song – Of Moons, Birds & Monsters, my other favorite – Siberian Breaks, and I giggled hysterically when they didn’t play Kids and a bunch of the college kids got mad. I was also so happy to finally see Kuroma! Almost the whole set was brand new songs, it was beautiful. All in all, it was the best. Can’t even express it. So glad for these days that mean so much to me.” —walkinggraffiti
