MGMT with fans, May 8 2013

“Spent some quality time with my favorite people on earth. Talked bands and instruments, art, all kinds of things. We gave them a biomorphic light form I built them, a cassette with a song we made for them, and a few other things. MGMT is contributing to something I’m doing that I’ll write more about later. Very thankful for the time I got to spend with them and for the beautiful set they played – Alien Days lead into the outro of Metanoia, they played 4 new songs, my favorite song – Of Moons, Birds & Monsters, my other favorite – Siberian Breaks, and I giggled hysterically when they didn’t play Kids and a bunch of the college kids got mad. I was also so happy to finally see Kuroma! Almost the whole set was brand new songs, it was beautiful. All in all, it was the best. Can’t even express it. “no professional cameras allowed at the venue so I couldn’t take good pictures with my real camera but some of these turned out okay!! I was almost first in line and was one of the last 5 or 6 people to leave so I was able to meet Matt and James! Apparently Andrew wasn’t feeling well and didn’t come say hi. Ben was on the phone outside the bus briefly but then went inside. Hank saw the people waiting to meet him but he didn’t come over, and Will didn’t come out after either.
